Attributed to Karl Palda, this striking Bohemian Art Deco wine cooler / ice bucket dates to around the 1930s. It is made from heavy quality glass with hand-cut detailing and is beautifully decorated with olive green and black enamelwork.
The piece has a bold geometric design, with clear cut panels, frosted sections and dramatic enamel decoration. The angular faceted body and strong side handles give it a very architectural Art Deco appearance, typical of the celebrated Czech / Bohemian glass designs associated with Karl Palda.
This is a highly decorative and practical piece, perfect for use as a wine cooler, ice bucket, or simply as a statement display item in an Art Deco interior or glass collection.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, nibbles or repairs. The enamelwork and glass are both well preserved. Please study the photos carefully as they form part of the description.- Sizes approx, 13cm high, 12cm diameter, tapering down to 11cm.
